The main target for this activity is to relax myself in a nice place. I know that dxpeditions often reach remote and unconfortable places to provide a new one to DXCC‘s fellows, but unfortunately this is not a dxpedition. This is, much more, a pure style DXFC activity. Nothing more. No big antennas, no amplifiers, no hevy equipement as full size verticals, multiband yagis on high rotating towers, nothing it could exceed the 15 Kg maximum of baggage weight will remain at home.
I will be active in the spare time, and it means that I will be not dedicated to amateur radio, full time. That’s it! This doesn’t mean that I will on the air 5 minutes a day. I will do the possible to let the hours dedicated to my hobby the most fruitful in terms of QSOs for evrybody.
It is important for you to highlight that I’m not a CW operator, and I will try to do my best also in this mode. I will consider this as a “gym” to improve my skills, so don’t blame me if I will be slow in that mode. Maybe a gym too much traumatic…
Equipement
I will be there with two fiber-glass verticals (probably 1/4 wave for 30 and 40 meters) and one multiband I1UJX. Who knows this antenna is aware that is a light antenna, really light, able to work from 6m to 40 meters, but it is not able to make miracles. The only main point is that those antennas will be just in front of the shore. There is not a better position for a vertical, and I trust on this point.
The radio is a Yaesu FT-897D with 100w and my Microkeyer II. Light Cable as RG58 will be my buddy and I will take with me few stuff to creat a dipole if it will be necessary.
Nothing more.
Anyway, I wil be on Mauritius just 3-4 days, but I will have more time on Rodrigues, that still remein my target destination.
I will not have internet in my bungalow. I will try to upload the log with the support of Frank IZ7KHR, if I will find a local provider to send to him the ADIF file. Otherwise we will do as we did 20 years ago.
